Light painting

Recently I Stumble Upon a really interesting blog. He was a photographer and he did alot of illusionist photo's and worked with all types of lighting. Most recently, there was a lot of photo's that had neon lights in them, in designs and using them as props sort of like this.
At first i thought it was added into the photo later as an effect, like it was drawn on with a software program. Then i started reading about it and it turns out it wasn't drawn on, he had actually drawn the objects and only the light trail shows up on the camera. It's called light painting and there's actually alot of ways you can do it. I googled it and found one guy who explains how it's done and all the techniques he uses to get different effects. You can use big fireworks, sparklers, he even set steel wool on fire in one of them and it created a shower of sparks that when captured on films looks like it's actually raining sparks.

8. Art Critic

Art critics write  decide how they feel about the subject. They analyze the work and look for themes and messagesthat the artsit was trying to convey. They follow a basic set of art stardards by which they judge artwork. These include unity, movement, and emphasis.
Critics can either receive a bachelors degree in a writing-related degree such as communications, journalism, or English. They also need a degree in art. Unless they are self publishing in which case they require no formal education because their opinions are a reflection of themselves, not their employer.
Personally, I don't feel like I could ever critic another persons artwork because I feel that everyone should be able to express themselves and there's no wrong way to do it. I wouldn't know what to look for, and or how to compare it to other art work either. It is definately not a career that I am interested in.

Personal Interest: Nazca Lines

The Nazca Lines are located in the Nazca Desert in Peru SA.The hundreds of individual figures range in complexity from simple lines to stylized hummingbirds, spiders, monkeys, fish, sharks, orcas, llamas, and lizards. But there are also several that just straight lines, like runways in the mountains. The lines were created by removing the reddish soil and pebbles from the ground to reveal the white earth underneath.
It's really interesting because of how large these designs are and how perfect they look from the air. It obviously too lots of time and care. The lines went unoticed for over thousands of years because they can only be seen from a air view, and people didnt fly over the area by plane until the 1930's.

Personal Interest: Soccer

I've been playing soccer since i was in the 3rd grade. It's played with two teams of 11 players, 10 feild players and a goalie. The goalie is the only player allowed to touch the ball with their hands or arms. The object of the game is to get the soccer ball between the tow goal post and past the goalie therefor scoring a goal. There are 2 halfs both 40 minutes for varsity, 30 minutes for JV. If the game is tied when the clock runs out of time, there is a shootout. Which is where one player is chosen to represent each team and alternate taking shots on the opposing teams goal until one of them gets the advantage.
I like playing soccer because it's a team sport and I enjoy being a part of something where everyone has to work together to get something accomplished.
